Yea… I just went there..
1 box of favorite mac and cheese or home made
1 jalapeño pepper diced
1 3/4 pound burger patty
2 slices of bacon
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups beer batter
2 cups panko crumbs
2 slices cheddar cheese
Start by making mac and cheese, either follow recipe or box depending on what you choose to use.
Dice jalapeño pepper and add with Mac and stir.
Remove from stove and add shredded cheese. Stir tell cheese is melted, this helps mac stay together.
Get burger ring. (I had a 3 x 5 stainless ring made for my mac burgers. That’s why I can make them so big.. go to local hardware store and get one)
Place tin foil down on counter,place burger ring on top. Lightly geese ring and foil.
Add 1/3 of mac to the ring press hard to pack mac.
Add cooked burger and cooked bacon place 1 slice of cheese on top and bottom of burger and bacon.
By now your ring should be 2/3 full
So top off with mac and cheese. Really work the mac around the burger and packing it tight.
Place in freezer for about a hour or 2. This is going to set the out side of the mac. Makes it easy to batter and fry
Mix beer batter
Take mac out of freezer and place on plate, pour batter on top and you spoon to cover. Be careful working with patty. Don’t want to fall apart. Gently flip and finish coating with batter.
Remove and place on panko crumbs. Pack crumbs all around burger, cover all sides well.
Get deep fry going to 375.. drop patty in fryer. Should take about 7 to 8 minutes to cook
Take out and place on towel and pat oil off.
Cut in half and enjoy
